Volunteer at an Animal Sanctuary in Thailand
Through this program, our volunteers serve at an animal sanctuary.
Most of the animals at the sanctuary have been abused or neglected.
The sanctuary has over 100 animals: dogs, monkeys, ducks, geese,
Thai water buffalo, cows, cats and a goat.
Located about a half hour from Chiang Mai city, the sanctuary is
in a beautiful, green country setting in the foot hills of the northern
Thai mountains.
Volunteers assist the staff at the sanctuary with feeding and bathing
the animals, along with grooming and handling the animals. Occasionally
volunteers will be asked to help with showing day tourists around
the sanctuary and keep track of the souvenirs at the small sanctuary
shop.
Beyond these other responsibilities, volunteers are also asked
to spend time loving and playing with the animals, considering many
of them have been abused or neglected and would gain a lot from
the time spent with them from people with big hearts.
