Our partner organization in Kampala offers full-time placement for volunteers to perform social work with children.
The organization has established an independent foster care system which currently monitors over 240 vulnerable / orphan children in the Wakiso District. They train local staff and foreign volunteers as caregivers who visit the children regularly. Some of these children’s homes have as many as 17 kids living there, with up to four caregivers per home (two resident and two who came during the day.).
There is a lot of opportunity here for dedicated volunteer to assist with the existing training programs and for qualified volunteers to share skills with the caregivers.
Locations: Kampala
Dates: Available year-round. You choose the start and end dates.
Requirements: Age 16+. Participants must be studying or practicing in the healthcare field. For example: doctors, nurses, medical students, nursing students and EMT’s.
Length of Stay: 2 weeks minimum. 6 months maximum.
Schedule: Volunteer Monday – Friday 8:30am to 4pm. Weekends free-time.
