Peru is a geographically diverse country encompassing the highlands of the Andes, the jungles of the Amazon rain forest, and the Coastal Desert. Our volunteering programs in Peru are based in both Lima and Cusco. Lima is the capitol of Peru while Cusco is an important cultural and historic city.
Beginner’s Spanish is recommended to volunteer in Peru. Although some of our volunteers arrive in Peru as absolute beginners and still enjoy the experience immensely, it still helps a great deal to be able to communicate at a basic level when you arrive there.
