Medical & Health Care Volunteering in Uganda
There are three separate hospitals in the Kampala area which are
available to our volunteers: Mulago Hospital, Nsambya Hospital,
and Kawempe City Council Hospital. Mulago is normally the busiest
hospital, although there are ample opportunities at each facility
for any sort of medical experience you can imagine.
Our medical volunteers have additional opportuinities via Community
Outreach programs, where volunteers work with our local partner
organizations to conduct workshops on health and hygiene. For example,
workshop participants are provided with simple water filtration
systems and taught how to use them. This type of work adds an interesting
dimension to volunteering at an urban hospital in or around Kampala.
