Location
Accra is the capital and largest city of Ghana, a country in West
Africa. It is the administrative, communications, and economic center.
Located on the southern coast, this is a pleasant city filled with
diverse cutlure, music, casinos and beaches. Most foreign visitors,
including our participants, arrive in Ghana at Kotoka Airport in
Accra.
Sightseeing&Activities
Accra offers a wide range of entertainment and a large selection
of African and international restaurants, bars, clubs and casinos.
A few minutes drive from Accra is Labadi beach which usually has
a variety of activity with dancers and performers.
Accra also has many many forts, museums, colorful markets and colonial
era shops. The fishing port of Jamestown, complete with a fort and
whitewashed lighthouse is a nice day trip. Close by are the Aburi
Botanical gardens which offer a fantastic range of indigenous and
exotic trees, as well as many birds and butterflies.
Another option is a visit to Cape Coast and Kumasi. The latter
is home to the largest open-air market in West Africa.
